Years with Milwaukee Recreation: Alonzo started with Milwaukee Recreation in 1993 and has held various roles, including play leader, playground resource staff, and event staff. 

Dream superpower: Super speed to "help get the job done."

What do you enjoy most about your job with Milwaukee Recreation?

"Giving back to the Milwaukee community where I was raised and supporting the neighborhoods that shaped me."

Staff Spotlight nomination

Alonzo was nominated for our June Part-Time Staff Spotlight by Marshall Community Center supervisor Adriana Gomez. 

"Alonzo is the backbone of the team. He is incredibly reliable, always showing up and delivering high-quality work on time without needing to be reminded," Gomez said. "His strong work ethic is obvious; he dives into every task with energy and never shies away from a challenge. Most importantly, Alonzo is a natural leader who inspires others by setting a great example, making everyone around him better just by being part of the group."
