Our US Masters workout group offers many options for adult swimmers at different fitness levels.

Each season there are early morning, Saturday, and evening classes at various locations throughout the city.

Visit the seasonal Recreation Guide for full times, dates, and locations. You can register online here.

Our four seasons of swim will keep you in the water most of the year!

Additional Information

Participant make up/Lane placement:

Regardless of where you decide to swim, all our sections offer a “get in where you fit in” model to accommodate levels of fitness and ability. In almost every practice, the most competitive swimmers are in the last lanes.

Lifetime swimmers, who are no longer concerned with competition or times but focused on maintaining fitness levels are typically in the middle lanes.

Lane 1 is for members new to the sport of swimming and may need help with technique. You should be comfortable swimming 50 continuous yards prior to joining. We also offer Adult Learn to Swim courses.  It is within the coach’s discretion to manage lane assignments throughout the season.

Not everyone competes, but those who do, join USMS on their own – this is NOT included with your practice fee you pay to Milwaukee Recreation.

Meets throughout the state are posted on the Wisconsin Masters page. There are about a dozen of our Masters swimmers who compete in state-wide competition.
