Milwaukee Recreation’s Adaptive Sports Program announces a new initiative that focuses on increasing awareness and encouraging the participation of disabled veterans and injured military personnel in adaptive sports and recreation offered through Milwaukee Recreation and its many community partners and agencies. We promote the opportunities available to veterans by holding demonstration events allowing participants to get a feel for the sport, tryout out different pieces of adaptive equipment and meet other athletes.
Through our program, we assist disabled veterans to reconnect with other veterans facing the same challenges in daily life. Adaptive sports and recreation offers our veterans a way to get outdoors and challenge their minds and bodies and learn new skills and passions. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate regardless of disability and residency.

Milwaukee Recreation Adaptive Sports, in collaboration with IndependenceFirst, offers many events throughout the year to give interested participants the chance to learn and try out new sports and recreation activities using our adaptive equipment. Check back often to learn about new events added throughout the year.
