MILWAUKEE RECREATION HOSTS
JUNIOR OLYMPICS REGIONALS
U.S. Junior Olympic Skills Regional Competition set for June 14
Milwaukee Recreation will host the U.S. Junior Olympic Skills Regional Competition at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14 at South Division Community Center, 1515 W. Lapham Boulevard. Last month, boys and girls (ages 8-13) from Greenfield, Milwaukee, Racine, and Sheboygan qualified for this event by participating in their own cities’ U.S. Junior Olympic Skills competitions. Youth will compete in basketball, soccer, tennis, and track. Regional Competition champions will have their scores ranked nationally and the top three scorers will advance to the National Finals in Chicago. Media representatives are invited to attend.
“The U.S. Junior Olympic Skills Regional Competition is especially exciting because participants can qualify for the national competition in Chicago,” says Recreation Supervisor Jim Janicki. “In addition, Milwaukee Recreation is always pleased to be part of something that promotes athletic activity and good sportsmanship.”
