FRIDAY NIGHT FUN
Friday Night Tales for Tots returns for winter and spring
Milwaukee Recreation's popular Friday Night Tales for Tots is returning this winter and spring. The nature-themed story sessions are designed for children ages 3-5 and their parents/guardians. Participants will enjoy stories, craft projects, and a tour of a nature museum (or nature hike if weather permits). The program takes place at Hawthorn Glen, Milwaukee Recreation's 23-acre nature center at 1130 N. 60th Street from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. on Fridays through May 16. A different story is featured each week. The cost per person per session is $4 for city of Milwaukee residents and $8 for non-residents. Pre-registration is required. The Friday Night Tale scheduled for February 29 includes a special bonus. Janet Halfmann, author of Little Skink's Tail, will read her book and sign copies, which will be available for sale. Halfmann's daughter will lead the craft project.
"Once upon a time, Milwaukee Recreation created Friday Night Tales for Tots," says MPS Assistant Recreation Supervisor Kevin Reed. "The children who attend our story sessions get to spend quality time with their parents/guardians, learn something about their natural surroundings, complete a fun craft project...and live happily ever after." |
