Milwaukee Special Olympics
What is Team Milwaukee?
Team Milwaukee Special Olympics is a community-based
athletic program for individuals with a cognitive disability
within Milwaukee County. Team Milwaukee practices one night
during the week usually from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with
a few exceptions. This program is open to anyone ages 8
years and older within the community including the MPS schools
that do not have a school-based program. If you have any

Mission Statement
The mission of Team Milwaukee Special Olympics is to assure
success and growth for all individuals with cognitive disabilities
through a variety of athletic programs including training
and competitions.
Vision
Team Milwaukee will provide opportunities for
all individuals with cognitive disabilities to strive to be
their best through competitions and trainings. Through a quality
program Team Milwaukee will build confidence and respect to
improve the quality of the athletes' lives and the lives of
everyone they touch.
Team Milwaukee empowers individuals with cognitive
disabilities to work and develop to their full potential.
Team Milwaukee continues to strive to provide numerous
training sites throughout the Milwaukee area with competent
and quality coaches.

How to Join Team Milwaukee
To join Team Milwaukee Special Olympics, a potential athlete
must have a cognitive disability and complete a Special Olympics
Medical and Release Form. To be placed on our mailing list
or to answer any question, please call 647-6044.
Volunteer Opportunities
Coaching
Interested in coaching or being an assistant coach in a certain
sport? We are looking for individuals that are interested
in changing the lives of our athletes by teaching the fundamentals
of sports.
One Day Events
We provide a variety of athletic competition that need day
of competition help. Volunteers will assist with duties such
as score keeping, timing and assisting with concessions.
